Sunshine Circle is a fresh, sensible, admirable project. Bringing teenagers together with survivors passes on the torch of Jewish historical memory hand to hand, from those who know most to those who need it most. A "Holocaust course" in high school or college pales by comparison. One such encounter can imprint the dark but crucial knowledge of what happened, on the young forever.

For the survivors, there is the heartwarming presence of impressionable listeners to keep their memories of that terrible time alive. For the teenagers, there is a ray of authentic light on the abstract word "holocaust," giving it at last meaning and truth.

God bless this brave endeavor.
